Vulcanus Rex will use his wily ways to light up the streets of downtown Saint Paul for the Vulcan Victory Torchlight Parade, Presented by Blaze Credit Union, marking the Vulcans march to overthrow King Boreas and bring summer back to the city of Saint Paul.
- Businesses, governmental agencies, community groups are all welcome to participate.
- Parade Route: West 7th at Smith to 5th Street to Washington to 4th Street and disassembly will begin at Market on 4th. Disassembly will continue to Wabasha. All Hotel Guests will be directed to Kellogg and Market for entry and exit Market to 5th street.
- Ending Location: Rice Park- stay for the Vulcan Overthrow on the steps of the James J. Hill Library and learn more about the legend of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival

Kat Perkins
Kat Perkins appeared on NBC’s The Voice Season 6 and advanced to the show’s finals. Mentored by Adam Levine, Kat climbed her way to fourth place! A native of the tiny town of Scranton, ND, Kat has resided in Minneapolis, Minnesota since 1999. Kat founded The Rising Star Foundation in 2015 fostering financial aid to up and coming musicians in need! Music and education is her passion and she tries to combine them whenever possible! Lindsey Brown
Lindsey joined 5 Eyewitness News in September 2014. She came to the Twin Cities all the way from Memphis, Tennessee, where she anchored the morning news at WMC-TV. Lindsey began her career anchoring at WTOK in Meridian, Mississippi.
Lindsey grew up in Long Beach, Mississippi on the gulf coast and graduated from The University of Mississippi. This is the first time she has lived outside the south. Lindsey is thrilled to be in the Twin Cities and call downtown Minneapolis home. When not working or thinking about future stories, Lindsey enjoys searching for treasures at antique stores and is an obsessive mom to her cat, Bridge.
Kevin Doran
Kevin Doran grew up in Brainerd, MN and moved home to join KSTP 5 Eyewitness News in 2015. He has been a Broadcast Journalist since 1985 and has been involved in tens of thousands of TV newscasts as an Anchor, Reporter, Producer and Photographer.
Kevin has earned four Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, a Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association for excellence in electronic journalism, the National Anna Quindlen Award from the Child Welfare League of America for excellence in journalism on behalf of children and families. He’s also earned awards from the Associate Press for his reporting and his anchoring. Kevin was inducted into the Brainerd High School Hall of Fame in 2012. He is happily married to Teresa and they have two adult daughters; Emma and Eva.
Saturday, February 1, 2025 – Torchlight Parade & Fireworks, Presented by Priority Courier Experts
• Parade staging will begin as early as 2:00 p.m. on Cliff Street off W. 7th. Staging will travel from Grace Street to Western, to St. Clair, to Cliff Street.
• The parade begins at 5:15 p.m. and will be concluded by 7:30 p.m. The roads will open as the parade passes by as determined by St. Paul Police. A 12 minute Fireworks show will follow after Parade in Rice Park.
• The parade will go Eastbound on W. 7th Street to 5th Street to Washington Street to 4th Street, around Rice Park and will disperse on 4th Street and exit from Market or St. Peter Wabasha out onto Kellogg.
• There will be no parking at meters along the route, including 5th Street. Please observe posted signs.
• There will be excessive traffic in the area of the Xcel Energy Center and Ordway Center to due to the Rodeo and a show at the Ordway.
•There will be an Impressive fireworks show following the Torchlight Parade between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Fireworks will be shot from Rice Park this year, directly after the Dethroning on the Library Steps.

Head to the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol for a single-day street snowboard contest featuring the most skilled rail raiders in the world hosted by Red Bull.
Travel to and from the Winter Carnival action and Red Bull Heavy Metal via the free shuttles taking off from the Landmark Center and the Capitol grounds (the intersection of Cedar Street and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) from 4 to 7 p.m.
