Welcome Minnesota Anglers! Prepare your tackle for the Winter Carnival Fishing Tournament- and this year, ice is optional if you can find it!  You can fish from a boat, the shore, anyplace!  Our month long digital ice fishing tournament through the FishDonkey Mobile App. launches January 1, 2024 and runs through February 4, 2024. 

Prizes will be awarded to the top anglers in categories:

  • King of Winter Largest Walleye – length
  • Largest Northern Pike – length
  • Largest Bass – length
  • Largest Crappie – length
  • Largest Sunfish – length
  • Largest Perch – length
  • Grand Slam of Panfish – measured by the total length of 3 fish… 1 crappie, 1 sunfish and 1 perch
  • Winter Carnival Super Fan (Must have 2024 Winter Carnival button in photo) – random winner selected.
  • Kids Fish (12 and under category)  Any fish entered has a chance to win awesome prizes
  • Wildcard – Any other fish including sturgeon, Musky, rough fish – random winner selected.

Categories and leaderboards will update throughout the contest, so check the leaderboards on your phone or on the website to follow the tournament progress.

 

Waters: Eligible fish are limited to all Minnesota public waters to get the whole State of Minnesota participating in Winter Carnival. Fish on the ice (safely), from a boat, the shore…anyway you can!

FishDonkey – How to Join (NOW ON THE FISHDONKEY APP)

All fish entered in the tournament will be photographed, measured, recorded with the FishDonkey app. Joining our tournament is easy:

  1. Download the FishDonkey Mobile App through the App Store on your mobile phone
  2. Search “Winter Carnival”
  3. Join the tournament by paying the $20 entry fee and begin submitting your catches!

This exciting outdoor event helps support the Saint Paul Festival & Heritage Foundation, a non-profit membership organization and proud producers of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. The Saint Paul Winter Carnival was started in 1886 and is the oldest winter festival in the United States. It relies on sponsors, fundraisers, donations, charitable gaming, and foundation members to support its year-round activities.
