Singer-songwriter Monique Blakey hails from Saint Paul and is the niece of the Winter Carnival’s King Boreas LXXIV, the late Art Blakey and Prime Minister 2015 Carolyn Blakey.

Monique discovered her very large voice at the young age of five. From then on she had pursued a successful career in music. She has competed in local, national, and international adjudications and talent shows, and made it far in auditions for American Idol & The Voice. Monique has been a part of many local acts such as the lead singer of Sawyer’s Dream and the Award-Winning Gospel group The Remnant.
