2023 King Boreas Grande Day Parade, Presented by Priority Courier Experts

The King Boreas Grande Day Parade is our daytime procession down West 7th Street featuring dozens of bands, floats and, of course, the newly crowned King Boreas and his Royal Family.
Businesses, governmental agencies, community groups are all welcome to participate.

The King Boreas Grande Day Parade is our daytime procession down West 7th at Smith to 5th Street to Washington to 4th Street and disassembly will start at Market on 4th. All Hotel Guests will be directed to Kellogg and Market for entry and exit Market to 5th street. featuring dozens of bands, floats and, of course, the newly crowned King Boreas and his Royal Family.
- Businesses, governmental agencies, community groups are all welcome to participate.
- Location start: Smith Avenue, along West 7th Street to 5th Street. Disperse on St. Peter to Kellogg
- Location end: Rice Park, enjoy a festive atmosphere as the units stroll through
Grande Day Parade Grand Marshals
Celebrity Grand Marshal: Tom Reid
In honor of Hockey Day Minnesota, this year’s Grand Marshal is one of the most well-known and well-loved Minnesota hockey legends, Tom Reid. Tom has been active in the State of Hockey for more than five decades, including his nine seasons with the North Stars, broadcasting, 20+ years of broadcasting professional and amateur hockey games, and as the business owner of Tom Reid’s Hockey City Pub.
Community Grand Marshal: Dan Stoltz
If there is one person that Winter Carnival can count on, it’s Dan Stoltz, President and Chief Executive Credit Union of SPIRE Credit Union. One of the most admired and awarded businessmen in the Twin Cities, Dan has a close, personal ties with Carnival. Dan served as King Boreas the 79th in 2015 where he made over 400 public appearances. In 2018, as Chairman of the Board of the Ice Board of Governors, he was instrumental of getting the Ice Palace built in Rice Park for locals and Super Bowl visitors. Spire’s support of the Winter Carnival by sponsorship of our buttons and event is vital to the production of the festival.
TV Grand Marshals: Alex Jokich and Chris Reece of 5 Eyewitness News
News anchor Alex Jokich joined 5 Eyewitness News in October of 2018. Alex has won multiple awards during her time as a journalist, including a Regional Emmy for and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
Meteorologist Chris Reece recently joined KSTP in November. Chris, also an Emmy winner, worked previously in Kentucky and Wisconsin.
